Beta-Adrenergic Receptors and Fat Loss

چکیده
HISTORY OF MESOTHERAPY This review of basic pharmacology using ephedrine as an active medication is provided by Bryan Haycock, MS, CSCS, founder of HSN. As a sympathomimetic, ephedrine acts to stimulate the sympathetic nervous system. It does this by causing presynaptic nerve terminals to release norepinephrine, or what is commonly called noradrenaline (NA), into the synaptic space. It also has the effect of increasing circulating adrenaline (Adr), the body’s chief beta-2 agonist. Noradrenaline, once released into the synaptic space, interacts with adrenergic receptors on the surface of adipocytes (also known as fat cells). This initiates a sequence of events within the adipocyte that increases lipolysis.

The Role of Adrenergic Receptors on Neural Excitability and Synaptic Plasticity: A Narrative Review
Adrenergic receptors have an important role in neural excitability and synaptic plasticity. Despite a lot of studies on these receptors, their exact role in brain disorders accompanied with hyperexcitability has not been determined. There are also controversies on their role in synaptic plasticity. In this review article, the important studies done in this regard have been reviewed to achieve a...

Background : Long-term exposure to anxiety and depression puts myocardium at risk of failure. Neurohormone Message caused be depression delivered to the heart by beta1 adrenoreceptor. The aim of this study was to survey and compare the effect of 4 weeks of endurance training with fluoxetine treatment on beta-adrenergic receptors in the male Wistar rat heart. Materials and Methods: This researc...

Different beta 1 and 2 adrenergic receptors agonists might have various biological and physiological effects on fish species. An experiment was designed to study the effects of feeding ractopamine, terbutaline and metaproterenol; as beta1, beta2 and less selective beta2 adrenergic receptor agonists, respectively; on body weight gain, feed conversion rate, concentration of biochemical parameters...
متن کاملAn assay for beta-adrenergic receptors in isolated human fat cells.
The beta-adrenergic receptors have been characterized in isolated human adipocytes using a potent beta-adrenergic antagonist (-)-[3H]dihydroalprenolol. Binding of (-)-[3H]dihydroalprenolol to isolated fat cells was stereospecific and saturable, the maximum number of binding sites calculated being 7.8 +/- 2.2 pmol of bound ligand/10(7) cells, corresponding to 450,000 binding sites/cell. The diss...
متن کاملChange in beta1-adrenergic receptor protein concentration in adipose tissue correlates with diet-induced weight loss.
The aim of the present study was to examine gene expression and protein concentrations of beta(1)- and beta(2)-adrenergic receptors in subcutaneous adipose tissue in obese subjects in response to weight loss. Eighteen obese subjects were studied during diet-induced weight loss. Beta-adrenergic receptor mRNA levels were quantified by reverse transcription-PCR-HPLC. Beta-adrenergic receptor prote...
